01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Bailey is an athletic OF/RHP who will graduate in 2021. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with on line zip to his target. At the plate he continues shine through an open setup athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with slight sink. Bailey has potential with time and room to progress his game.

02/04/2018 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Bailey is a hardworking catching prospect who graduates in 2021. Offensively, Bailey has a tall, open setup with his weight on his heels. He has a good load with a short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Bailey tracks the ball well and has an aggressive approach. He has an upward swing path and can add strength behind it. Bailey is a contact type hitter who shows most solid contact to the pull side. Behind the plate, Bailey presents a low target and tracks the ball well. He covers good ground when needing to block the baseball. Bailey has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws to 2B are consistent and he can benefit from added strength. Overall, Bailey is a coachable prospect who has potential to advance his skills with development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
