Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

09/14/2016 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Baylin Moore is a very talented 2018 two-way player that has a high ceiling. Defensively in the OF, he took a great first step and tracked down fly balls with ease. His athleticism allowed him to cover the gaps and he made quick adjustments to coaching, showing strong aptitude. His arm played very well, and he was accurate to hit his targets. Offensively, he had plus feel with his left handed stroke, and was consistent to get into a strong position to hit. He had a solid approach with balance and rhythm and flashed fast hands which allowed for plus pop. On the mound, he threw his FB with late action from 81-84 and showed signs of command. He had a good tempo pitch to pitch and his pace of delivery was smooth and fluid. His second outing was his best outing as he struck out 4 hitters in 3 innings of work, throwing a high number of strikes. All in all - Baylin has a bright future in this game and is just beginning to scrape the top of his potential.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Moore is a two way player at OF and LHP. Takes great angles, works behind and through the ball with accurate throws to bases. Projects well in the OF at the next level. On the mound, Baylin is raw and does throw in the low 80s (82). Needs some polish and development of secondary pitches. At the plate, he is very athletic in his setup, tracks well, stays behind the ball. Good approach with the ability to spray the ball to all fields.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
