12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Beau is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Beau takes a good first step and shows active footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Beau improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands. He is fluid getting into a small load and works to barrel up the baseball, leading to solid contact to all fields. Beau can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Beau gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes level and drives his lower half well, finishing with a controlled landing. Beau shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 63-67mph with 10-4 break. Lengthening his arm action can help Beau improve as a pitcher. Overall, Beau is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/14/2019 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Beau is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and solid gap to gap pop. Getting more extension through the ball can help Beau improve as a hitter. On the mound, Beau gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Beau shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 64-67mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 63-66mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Beau can improve as a pitcher by working on his glove side fastball command. Overall, Beau is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
