Official Scouting Report

12/29/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Beck is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who has a tremendous future on the diamond. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm and stays direct through the ball with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap power. In the field, Beck moves light on his feet and covers ground well. He has a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line across the diamond. On the mound, Beck gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Beck shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 85mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 72-74mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 77-80mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Cutter sits from 81-83mph with good movement. Overall, Beck is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
