06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Ben is a solid, strong SS/RHP with a bright future ahead on the diamond. On the mound, arm action is loose, free, and quick. Arm strength is outstanding as indicated by his top velocity of 90 mph. Fastball shows a range of 88-90 mph on a downhill plane with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. At SS, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft / sure hands. At the plate he shows best an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity), generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. With his baseball tools and two years to further develop, Ben will get looks from the top collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.
