10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Ben had another good showing at the AZ Fall Classic. He has increased his velocity yet again to 82 mph as well as his best broad jump of 8'7". He has continued to make strides in his game with solid defensive footwork and arm accuracy. Offensively, he has really improved his bat speed from year past and can see the ball jumping off his bat better. Ben is making tremendous strides and if he continues that trajectory and progression we are excited to see what the future holds.

10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - So Cal (HS) Since we first met Leshgold in the summer of 2019, he has increased his broad jump by one foot from 6'11" to 7'11" and arm strength from 72mph to 78mph. In addition, to prove how grip strength plays in to how hard a player can hit a baseball, Ben gripped a combined total of 156 pounds and hit a ball off the tee 78mph when we first met him and this past weekend he gripped a total of 217 pounds and hit a ball off the tee at 87mph. He has a good feel for the game and we expect big things out of him as he moves into his high school career.

10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Ben was an integral part of our national team at the Freshman Fall Classic by going 5 for 11 at the plate against solid pitching and making a few dazzling plays in the outfield. Due to being a California player during the covid age, he hasn't had a chance to see a lot of live pitching over the last 7 months. It didn't take him long to find his groove and begin barreling up baseball consistently. This 2024 grad has a bright future on the diamond.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ben is an OF/1B prospect who showcased his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Ben gets into position on time and fields with a relaxed glove. He shows the ability to finish plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with his hands held high. He drives through well with his lower half and takes a level swing, leading to consistent contact to his pull side. Overall, Ben is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/12/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Ben is a tall OF/1B prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Ben shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and solid pop. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Long toss
Infield
1. Stay low to throw
Hitting
1. More level swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
