07/23/2012 - 2012 Team One Northeast Showcase Ben is big and tall third baseman and spends time on the mound as well. In the infield, he has clean footwork that allows him to play through the baseball. His defensive abilities should continue to develop as he learns to create some pre-pitch rhythm to help get his feet going on time. At the plate, he has an athletic setup and the ability to maintain good balance throughout his swing. His offensive tools should continue to improve as he learns to stay inside and through contact. On the mound, he has a repeatable delivery and maintains a quiet head that allows him to work effectively down in the zone. His slider is his best off-speed pitch, showing 11/5 shape with tight break. He works both sides of the plate and gets outs. His abilities on the mound should continue to develop as he learns to maintain a loose and free arm action. As a 2014 graduate, Ben has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.
