Official Scouting Report

  • 2Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ben is an athletic 3B/RHP who showed as a top prospect All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At 3B, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and present well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness (6.95 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (90 mph velocity) to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact, showing a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 2 pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, works both sides of the plate, and throws strikes with all his pitches. Ben has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
