07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Benjamen is a coachable 1B prospect who made adjustments well during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Benjamen shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange to throw and keeps his throw accurate and on-line to his target. Benjamen can improve defensively by playing through the ball more. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and line drives. Benjamen can improve as a hitter by getting more extension through the ball. With four more years to develop, Benjamen has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH Rose is a (5'5"/115) 1B who graduates in 2022. Defensively, he shows active pre-pitch footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He has quick/soft hands, tracks the ball into his mitt and makes the plays consistently. With the bat, this RHH has a square/athletic setup with centered balance. He swings on a level path, engages his lower 1/2 and drives the ball back up the middle of the field. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve skills on the diamond.

Infield
1. Lower fielding position
2. Glove presentation
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Swing path
2. Extension through contact
3. Increase bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
