06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Benjamin is a very talented RHP/OF who has a ton of upside. This RHP has an effective 3-pitch arsenal in which to challenge hitters. He works to a controlled balance point, maintains level shoulders and drives downhill toward the plate. He attacks the zone early and gets ahead in the count often. FB now cracks the mitt at 84 mph while slight arm-side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp/late break - proving to be a solid strike out pitch. He works quickly and doesn't give hitters much time to get settled. Pickoff move is quick as he has proper footwork. In the OF, Benjamin puts his athleticism on display. He tracks down fly-balls in the gaps, works behind the ball and has a cannon for an arm (91 mph) with excellent carry on his throws. As a hitter - this righty has centered balance with rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation on his load, fires the barrel and drives the ball with pop - with the ball exploding when centered (exit velocity = 88 mph). He battles at the plate and proved to be a tough out. This 2018 grad has the tools that will make an impact in a multitude of ways.
