07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Benjamin continues to progress in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, Benjamin sits in athletically, he holds a low target, and communicates well with his pitchers. He has a good baseball IQ behind the plate and throws with some accuracy to 2nd base. On the mound, Benjamin has a balanced delivery, he keeps his eyes on target, and lands with proper direction toward home plate. At the plate, Benjamin can switch hit and is better from the right side. He has good bat speed, swings in good rhythm, and makes consistent contact. Benjamin swings on plane and uses his lower body. From the left side, he has good bat speed, a level swing, and he puts the bat on the ball.

04/30/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Charlottesville, VA Benjamin is a (5'5"/120) RHP/C. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes on target. He delivers with a clean arm action as he pounds the zone with strikes. Behind the plate, he presents a quiet body and is efficient with his feet. He works in line as he makes accurate throws down to 2B. With the stick, Benjamin shows a square/balanced setup. He drives his lower 1/2 as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
