12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Benjamin continues to shine on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He throws a slider that resembles breaking ball. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/23/2019 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Benjamin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing to the ball with fast bat speed (94 mph exit velocity) which leads to hard contact. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. 10/06/2019 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Benjamin is a tall and broad 3B/RHP with a projectable frame. Around the diamond, his throws are consistent and online to any base. At the plate, Benjamin shows some pop with an 87 mph exit velocity. He starts in an athletic and open stance getting a short stride with a smooth rhythm. He keeps a balanced center as he fires his hips through creating fast bat speed. His contact is hard as he creates good extension showing a line drive approach. On the mound, Benjamin has a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. As he begins his mechanics, he separates on time with a clean arm action. His mechanics will continue to improve as he shows the ability to repeat and make adjustments. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
