08/06/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Hillyer showed as a RHP/OF at the event but currently projects best on the mound for the next level. His delivery is sound / repeatable, allowing his arm to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with slight run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break and shows flashes of being a quality pitch when he stays on top. In the OF, his feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through and continue to improve defensive grades. At the plate, Benjamin shows a solid setup with balance. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep his hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Ben is the kind of player any coach would like to have on his team.
