08/15/2020 - All-In Membership - Uniondale (Long Island), NY This strong/athletic OF continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and tracks down fly-balls hit into the gaps with speed. Transfer is clean with carry/accuracy on his throws. At the plate, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. Bat speed is present as quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone. He squares the ball up with strength consistently and sprays line-drives to all parts of the field (exit velocity = 89 mph). Benjamin has the skills that will translate well into a high level.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Benjamin continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth/clean actions with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Benjamin has big upside and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/16/2018 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Benjamin continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 6.98. In the OF, defensive abilities display smooth/athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry and zip as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and aggressive as he attacks balls in the zone. Swing path is level and he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Benjamin is a prospect that will make an impact at the next level as he continues to progress his game.

07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Benjamin's improvement on the field has been eye opening as he continues to get better in all areas and shows an excellent feel for the game. His raw power is hard to miss and he puts it to use with the ability to hit for extra bases and hit the ball on the screws consistently. He is smooth in the box to load and launch with a strong lower half that generates a fast bat through the zone. He gets on plane early and keeps the barrel through the zone to make hard, line drive contact to all fields. In the outfield, he has the feel and tools to play all three positions with the range to track balls down and the arm to make strong throws. He works behind the ball and is athletic to field with a quick exchange and release to show off his big arm. Benjamin is a very talented player with lots of potential to keep improving and we expect him to have a bright future in the game.

04/29/2018 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Benjamin continues to improve and he has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (80 mph velocity) through his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He has leverage and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Benjamin has a lot of potential and is a sure player to follow.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Benjamin is a well-built OF/1B prospect who truly loves the game and works his hardest to be the best player he can be. He shows an advanced feel for hitting with impressive bat to ball skills and the ability to put the ball in play with authority. He is smooth in the box to load to a power position and strides on time with a strong lower half to generate power. His bat gets on plane quickly and stays level through the zone to make consistent, hard contact and spray the ball to all fields for base hits. In the outfield, his feet are active working to the ball as he takes efficient angles to extend his range and run balls down in the gaps. He is athletic to field and works around the ball to come through it with momentum to throw to his target. A long toss program will improve arm strength and add more stock to Benjamin as an outfielder. Benjamin is a prospect we think has a bright future on the field.

12/11/2016 - College PREP - Nyack (NYC), NY Benjamin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an open setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short/level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus as he utilizes his lower half well. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind but will benefit by playing through balls more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Tiger Town Ben is a talented athlete who showed very well during his time at Tiger Town. He is a projectable player who has a ton of upside. As a hitter - Ben stands in with good balance and quiet/simple actions. He has quick hands, whipping the barrel through a level path and connecting with some pop. He hits the ball where it's pitched using the entire field. Widening his base in his setup will allow him to utilize his full lower 1/2 - resulting in even more power. At 1B, he shows active footwork and moves well to cover ground laterally. He is sure handed and gets his mitt on almost everything hit his way - fielding the ball smoothly. Ben is a coachable player who has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

12/13/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Benjamin is a (1B/OF) who has a projectable build (5'6"/140). With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance and rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is quick with speed to and through a level path. He hits the ball where it's pitched as he uses the whole field. At 1B - Benjamin has quick footwork and tracks GB's into a soft mitt. He makes the plays and gathers well. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
