12/27/2011 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament - Session 2 Stokes showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in Scranton, PA but did show as a SS for the first time. At SS, he has quick feet as he moves well laterally, flashing range with clean hands. He needs to attack ground balls more, play through while presenting his hands more out front to improve defensive grades. Throws are accurate but he needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Bill shows a solid setup with balance. He makes consistent contact as he works to keep his hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will improve as he learns to load more and transfer his weight properly through his lower half. On the mound, his fastball shows a range 77-78 mph. His breaking ball displays 11/5 shape. He throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters.
