Official Scouting Report

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Billy showed well during his time at the Preseason All American event and continues to show a big upside on the bump. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. He works on a strong downhill plane. Fastball shows a range of 83-88 mph with arm side run and heavy action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control is solid as he locates well to both sides of the plate, pounding the zone. Offensively, he stands in well with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack remaining compact throughout his swing, barreling the ball up with power. He squares the ball up with pop to his pull-side (going 3 for 7 with a 1B, 2B & 3B). Kral has a high ceiling with tools that will translate well into the next level.

09/16/2015 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Billy continues to show well on the diamond. This projectable RHP is a go-to arm that will throw strikes and give his team a chance every time he toes the rubber. On the bump, he utilizes his tall (6'2"/200) frame, stays on top and drives downhill toward the dish. FB has some run - giving hitters a difficult time trying to square it up. Curveball is very effective & deceptive with 11/5 shape, showing to be a solid 'K' pitch. He mixes his pitches well and keeps hitters guessing. As a hitter - Billy can swing it with some power. Hands are quick as he jumps on pitches that he likes, connecting with strength and spraying the ball with pop to all parts of the field (exit velocity = 90 mph). Billy is a coachable player who is always willing to make adjustments to his game. This RHP has a ton of upside and will be a great addition to a college looking for a reliable, strike throwing righty.

07/10/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National East Kral continues to pound the zone with strikes. FB now cracks the mitt at 88 mph while showing late run. He maintains fluid tempo and has sound mechanics. Good glove side lead keeps him in-line as he drives downhill toward the plate. He mixes pitches well and keeps hitters of balance. This 6'2"/195 RHP (2017 grad) will compete every time he toes the rubber.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kral only showed on the mound at the event where he has an upside and promising future. On the mound, fastball showed range of 83-84 mph range with arm side run. He shows quality off speed pitches that will get outs at the next level. He pounds the zone, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will improve quickly as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Billy has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Kral continues to show as RHP/ 3B but projects slightly better on the mound for the next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved, now showing well above average as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 84 mph. Fastball shows a range of 81-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break and shows as a quality pitch. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, pounding the zone. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength. At 3B, he moves well laterally, flashing range. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he plays through balls more, present hands more out front, and increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup and aggressive approach. Hands are loose work through a level swing path as he shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 5 for 8 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.

10/05/2014 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Billy is a strong, athletic 2017 grad that projects as a RHP & 3B. At 3B he has soft hands with a good DP turn. His ball has carry on it even from his quick release. Fielding the ball out front, being light on his feet, developing lateral quickness and continuing to polish his glove skills will help his 3B abilities improve. On the mound, he gathers himself over the rubber where his separation is on time, he has a free arm action, his release point is towards his target getting great extension and he has a controlled landing. His FB sits around the low 80s with late run, topping out at 83. His CB resembles the 11/5 shape with tight spin and CH has gradual movement at 75-78. Strengthening his arm and developing his CH will improve his pitching abilities. Offensively, again, he uses his lower 1/2 very well to drive the ball to the gaps. He has a square stance with hands that are activated. He has loose/flexible actions at the plate with hands that are direct to the ball. Getting more extension and keeping his bat path level will improve his hitting abilities. Billy is a big, strong ballplayer with a couple of years to make a lasting impression on college coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
