02/24/2013 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Billy is an athletic 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 79-83 mph with late life on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp / late break and shows a quality pitch the will get outs at the next level. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He needs to attack ground balls, play through, and present hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, Ritter shows a balanced approach with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side as he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields and improving hitting grade. Power potential is present as he uses his lower half well and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Billy has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
