11/26/2023 - National Showcase - St. Petersburg (Tampa), FL Blake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show at 2B for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.50 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 2B, feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He shows a nice backhand, playing through well. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Blake is a class of 2027 C/RHP prospect. Behind the plate, he shows off a low target. Shows an easy sit and the ability to receive the baseball well. Worked in the 2.9-3.0 ranges down to 2B. At the plate, showed a quiet head and repeatable swing. Did a good job keeping his eyes level. Reached base multiple times in game action. On the mound, he showed clean actions. Showed the ability to control all 3 pitches. Blake is a talented player that we hope to see again in the future.

11/20/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Blake is a C prospect who will graduate in 2027. Behind the dish, Blake shows active footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and works through a level swing, producing strong line drives. Overall, Blake is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
