07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Blake continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with loose spin and gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/14/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Blake continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a level swing path with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

02/23/2020 - College PREP - Waco, TX Blake is an athletic and strong 2021 catching prospect. Behind the dish, Blake presents a low target, he has an efficient glove path, and he has a quiet primary stance. When throwing, he has a clean exchange and he creates momentum with his lower half to throw. When blocking, he anticipates the ball in the dirt and he tucks his chin. At the plate, Blake starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and he has a direct swing path. He finds the barrel and he looks to make contact to all fields. Blake is highly competitive and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
