10/28/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Blake is a solidly-built (6'2"/205) left-handed hitting prospect. He has strong hands that allow him to manipulate the barrel very well. He centers a lot of balls with the ball coming off the bat with authority (95 mph exit velocity). He hits off a balanced base and has good natural hitting rhythm. As a defender Blake shows versatility - fitting well at 1B or LF. He reads balls well in the OF and moves well through both ground balls and routine fly balls. At 1B Blake has a good feel around the bag with sure hands and an accurate arm. Overall Blake is an exciting young player who should be a run producer at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
