08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Blake is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Blake fields the ball out in front of his body and makes accurate, on-line throws to his target. Blake can improve defensively by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact. Blake can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Blake keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Blake shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 11-5 break. Blake can improve as a pitcher by extending through more on his release. Overall, Blake is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute as a two-way player at the next level.
