12/27/2017 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Bobby is a tall, strong built catching prospect who has a well-rounded skill set. Offensively, Bobby has a square, athletic stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with his load and a short stride. Bobby shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. Bobby has the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. Behind the plate, Bobby plays the position athletically with fluid movements. He presents a low target and is quiet with his actions. Bobby has a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has good momentum through his release showing strong, consistent throws down to 2B. Overall, Bobby is an athletic catching prospect who has a solid raw tools and the ability to get even better.

10/29/2017 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Bobby is a strong, athletic catcher who can hit. Behind the plate, Bobby has quiet hands, quick/fluid feet, and he sits in athletically. He blocks and receives well, has flexion in his hips, and an accurate/short arm action to 2nd base. Lighter feet, catching in better timing, and work on blocking can help defense improve. Offensively, Bobby has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes hard/consistent contact, and has very good feel for the barrel with pop.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
