Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

02/19/2018 - College PREP - Brentwood (Long Island), NY Bobby is an athletic, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Bobby has athletic actions, active feet, and agile movements to the ball. He has soft hands, reads the ball off the bat well, and plays through properly with accuracy to his target. Continuing to quicken feet and add arm strength will help OF skills improve. On the mound, Bobby stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a loose arm action, and solid mechanics. He works in good tempo, gets good extension on his pitches, and competes in the zone. Better separation, a shorter landing, and work on off-speed will help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Bobby has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and he hits from a good base. He is an aggressive hitter with fast bat speed and a direct barrel to the ball. More weight transfer and staying back a little longer on the ball will help hitting get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
