08/05/2009 - Pirate City World Series - Session 2 Bobby is a young two-way player at 3B and on the mound with a small, solid body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is well below average and he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get and playing through the baseball with his feet and hands. Glove action is presented out front and he makes the routine plays, displaying slightly above average defensive abilities. Arm strength is average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in building more arm strength, raising velocities. At the plate, hitting abilities are solid average with average power. He works to keep his hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will increase as more overall body strength is gained and he learns to use his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-76 mph with sink. Changeup shows a good feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball is average with a loopy downward shape. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is developed. With 2 years to further develop, Bobby has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
