Bobby is a MIF who is a prospect on the diamond. At 2B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. A projectable 2B - Bobby has lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.
03/15/2015 - National Tryout - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA
Bobby continues to shine in the MIF. Defensively, he works quickly/athletically around the GB and into a low fielding position. He works from the ground-up and funnels to a smooth exchange. Offensively, this RHH displays a square setup with a solid base. He swings on a level path and drives the middle of the field. Engaging and driving his lower 1/2 will help to generate more torque and more pop off of his barrel. Only a 2018 grad - Bobby's offensive skills with come with hard work as he has a lot of time.
09/14/2014 - National Tryout - Azusa, CA
Bobby showed spikes in offensive numbers during his last workout in Azusa. Hitting and power both improved to 45 and 40 respectively. At the plate, Bobby has quick hands to the ball, a direct barrel, and he can hit to all fields. He has pop into the gaps, and uses his lower 1/2 well. At 2B, Bobby takes proper angles, his hands are sure, and he flashes a solid backhand with a good arm action to his target.
07/20/2014 - California Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14)
Bobby is an athletic 2018 graduate who showed leadership qualities at times at the CA Select event. As an infielder he showed good quickness, takes proper angles and uses multiple throwing slots. He needs to find a better pre-pitch position, get hands out front/play straight up the body and continue to polish footwork. At the plate Bobby displayed good balance, stays inside the ball and uses lower half. He can improve as a hitter by loading without an arm bar, letting the ball travel into the proper hitting zone and controlling the barrel better.
