01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament 2-time Under Armour All-American Bobby Witt, Jr. put on another impressive display at the UAAAPS Tournament. He, once again, showed off his impressive tools with an outstanding batting practice and his usual smooth, mature infield workout. He ran a 6.6 60-yard dash and registered an event-best 104 mph exit velocity. Bobby showed a taste of his complete skill set in game play with hard contact in several at bats including an RBI double, an outstanding double play exchange, and he even scored from 1B on a hit and run single into right center field. Add in the make-up (he was the last player on the field Saturday picking up baseballs that were left on the field after staying to turn DPs for the 3B being filmed) and the Oklahoma commit is a very complete prospect.

07/29/2017 - Under Armour All-America Game, Powered by Baseball Factory One of only two underclassmen competing in the Under Armour All-America Game, Bobby has an outstanding ability to use his high-level tools in games. He continually produces when it counts, and he impacts games in several ways. He has a quick right-handed bat with power, plus speed, is a smooth, reliable defender, and has been outstanding on the mound. Bobby is committed to Oklahoma.

11/05/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Bobby is an outstanding prospect possessing the rare mix of tools, high baseball IQ and the ability to use all of his tools in games. His RH stroke is loose and athletic using excellent eye/hand coordination to find the barrel consistently. The overall approach at the plate is simple and quiet making for very few holes in his swing. The ball jumps off his bat with surprising power, as evidenced by the 94mph exit velocity he recorded. Bobby also showed excellent strike zone discipline taking two walks in game play. As a defender Bobby is quick and confident - taking good angles, fielding with a quiet glove and soft, sure hands. He has plenty of arm strength across the diamond with a quick, efficient exchange and can throw accurately from multiple arm angles, and on the run. His internal clock is advanced as he has an excellent feel for the correct pace with which to make each play. Overall, Bobby is the total package with an excellent offensive profile as a 6.64 runner who can handle a premium position at the next level.

06/14/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Bobby is a SS/RHP who is a prospect at both positions. Foot speed is tremendous as indicated by his 60 time of 6.65. At SS, defensive abilities are at a pro level, displaying smooth/fluid actions. Hands/feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft/sure hands. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a direct/level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off his bat, displaying gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 85-88 mph on a downhill plane with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape, also showing as a quality pitch. Command/control is outstanding as he locates well to both sides of the plate and changes speeds well. With his baseball tools and 3 years to further develop, Bobby could be a solid 2019 draft guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
