12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brad continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 78 mph. He throws a cutter with tight spin and late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up in making the routine play but will benefit by presenting hands more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on the slow roller play. At the plate, hands are aggressive and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He makes consistent contact with power numbers improving as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. A 2018 graduate, Brad has abilities with time and room to improve.

10/11/2015 - College PREP - Gaffney, SC Brad is a tall, athletic RHP/3B that will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond at both positions. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid, displaying fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works around balls, displaying proper footwork and fluid actions through the ball. Hands are soft / sure as he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential through a squared / athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to increase as he to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp / late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with slight fading action. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Command / control are outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Brad has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
