08/02/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Brad is a coachable 2-way player (C/2B) who worked hard on his skills during his time at Pirate City. He has made great strides in his game, lowering his pop time (2.16) and 60 yard dash time (7.02). Behind the dish, he sits in well with quiet/athletic actions and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He works hard laterally around pitches in the dirt and keeps the ball in front. Throws down to 2B show accuracy coming from a quick release. Offensively, this righty stands in with centered balance and looks to jump on pitches he likes. He gets loaded and swings on-plane, connecting and hitting line-drives. Once on base, he remains aggressive and is always looking to advance. Sullivan (2023 grad) has a solid skill-set with still time to progress and build more strength.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Gainesville, FL Brad is an athletic and talented 2023 C/2B. Behind the dish, Brad starts in a quiet stance, he presents a low target, and works under the ball. When throwing, he has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. When blocking, he leads with his glove and deadens the ball with his chest. At 2B, Brad is on time with his prep step and creates good angles to the ball. He has a clean exchange and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Brad starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and attacks the inside part of the ball. He has fast hands and looks to drive the ball to all fields. Brad is highly motivated and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Brad continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.33. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At SS, feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through more. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Brad is a competitive, hardworking SS/C. Behind the dish Brad shows an athletic primary presenting a good glove. To second, he gains ground with a clean exchange and a short arm action. His throws are accurate with carry and he shows good blocking ability. At the plate, Brad shows an open stance with loose and comfortable hands. He loads well keeping his stride centered with fluid rhythm. He gets his barrel on plane with good hip/hand separation and makes consistent contact showing gap to gap power. As he continues to grow and develop arm strength, Brad shows the ability to develop into a great player.

02/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Gainesville, FL Brad is an athletic, 2-way player who catches and plays SS. Behind the plate, Brad has quick feet, agile movements, and a soft glove. He works around the ball well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and accuracy from a loose arm action to his target. At SS, Brad has quick/active feet, agile movements, and soft hands. He attacks aggressively, fields out in front of his body, and throws with accuracy and carry to his target. At the plate, Brad has an athletic set-up, good balance, and quick hands. He has fast bat speed, a direct swing path, and he hits with strength to the pull side. Brad can improve solid overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
