06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Braden continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to work to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive swing path with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Fastball shows a range of 67-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Braden is a 1B/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 1B, Braden shows proper footwork and makes the routine plays. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Braden improve as a 1B. In the OF, Braden shows proper footwork and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Braden can improve as an OF by increasing his range. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He drives through well with his lower half and sprays the ball to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Braden improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Braden has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Braden is a tall and lanky 2023 1B prospect that worked hard all week. At 1B, Braden is on time with his prep step, he fields the ball in an athletic position, and works off the bag well. He has a clean exchange and makes good throws on double plays. He needs to continue to improve his first step, create angles, and work from the ground up. At the plate, Braden starts in an athletic stance, keeps his hands in a relaxed stance, and has a middle approach. Continuing to get his hands back into the launch position, getting his lower half to balance, and looking to hunt the fastball early in counts will improve his contact rate. He has a pull side approach but he needs to continue to get the barrel inside the ball and have more of a middle approach. Braden has tremendous upside and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/07/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Germantown (Memphis), TN Braden is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 1B and OF. In the INF, Braden has efficient footwork, firm hands, and he moves well to the ball. He covers ground, plays through, and has a clean exchange with accuracy and momentum toward his target. In the OF, Braden has active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields athletically. He makes plays consistently, plays through, and throws with a long arm action with consistency to his target. At the plate, this LHH has an open stance, a good load, and solid balance. His hands work well, he hits hard to the pull side, and he uses some lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Set-up
2. Fielding position
3. AA
Outfield
1. Raise arm slot
2. Catch higher
Offense
1. Swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
