06/06/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Braden is a talented 2-way prospect with an athletic 6'3"/210-pound frame. The ball jumps off his bat at the plate (92 mph exit velocity) - he has a good path and gets good extension. After a solid batting practice, he had two singles up the middle during live at bats. Defensively, Braden is solid around the bag at 1B. He shows confident hands and plenty of athleticism. He also has an intriguing 3-pitch mix on the mound with a fastball that was up to 87 mph, a breaking ball that he landed for strikes and a change that he threw with good arm speed. Overall, this is an exciting player to follow closely.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Braden showed as a RHP and was a top prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All-American tournament. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which he keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 85-90 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his split finger with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is tremendous as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Braden has big upside on the mound and will get looks from collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

10/20/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Braden is a 3B/RHP who can swing it. At the plate, he has near pro level hitting/power abilities. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack, crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park. At 3B, he has plus lateral range (6.88 60 time), working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 84-86 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Control is well above as he throws strikes with all pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Braden has big upside and will get looks from top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

10/05/2019 - College Recruiting Day - Austin, TX Braden is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Braden shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with plus plus bat speed, leading to loud contact and great power to all fields. On the mound, Braden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing square to his target. Braden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 86mph. Breaking ball sits from 70-72mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 77-78mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Braden is a talented prospect who shows the skill set to excel at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
