12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Braden is a lean built catching prospect who has natural ability and plays the game athletically. Behind the plate, Braden plays consistently and setups with a good low target. He moves well laterally with active feet and stays square to the ball. Braden receives the ball with a firm glove. He has a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He has momentum through his release producing strong accurate throws with POP times ranging from 2.06-2.40 seconds. Offensively, Braden has an athletic stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm in his load and takes a short stride. Braden has a short swing path doing a nice job of staying inside the baseball. He is a contact hitter and sprays the ball to all fields. Overall, Braden is a talented prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball.

08/08/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Braden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.84. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.19 range. Feet are quick in gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills show as playable tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strong hands with power improving as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/12/2016 - College PREP - Keizer (Salem), OR Braden is a solid catcher who will graduate in 2017. Behind the dish, Braden sets-up well and has great pocket awareness framing well. He has a quick transfer/release from glove to hand - firing strong/accurate throws on the bag. Offensively, Braden has an athletic setup and is well balanced. He displays quick bat speed, getting the barrel through the zone, hitting hard line drives. This 2017 graduate has the right tools that will provide success on the diamond as he approaches his senior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
