Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Braden is a tall 2025 1B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At 1B, he starts from an athletic position, has effective feet, and is agile to both sides of his body. He fields from an athletic position with hands out front. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has accurate throws with a 78 mph raw velocity. On the mound, Braden has a FB that sits 74-76 mph, a CB with good break that he was able to throw in all counts, and a CH that sat at 65 mph. During the game, he threw 3 innings picking up 3 strikeouts and caused a lot of soft contact. At the plate, he has an athletic stance, a low hand slot, and an activated load. Braden has a strong lower ½, smooth swing path, and fast hands. We foresee that Braden will continue to catch the eyes of scouts both on the mound and at the plate.

10/29/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Braden is a tall (6ft 1/170) and strong lefthanded hitting 1B/C in the 2025 class. In the field, he has fluid feet and displays agility as he defends the baseball. Shows athletic ability by staying low to the ground and displaying soft hands. He can redirect the baseball with quick actions and arm is loose from a high 3 qtr. slot. Has solid bag awareness and presents a great target for his defenders. Behind the plate, he is a solid receiver and can maintain the strike zone with controlled glove actions. Arm action is short and he throws the top of the baseball for a 2.38 pop. At the plate, he shows easy actions from a tall and athletic stance. Gains a short stride and obtains a solid load phase. Stays inside his feet and can backspin the baseball to all fields. Overall, scouts feel he has a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
