05/28/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Braden is an extremely talented prospect who had an impressive showing at the BF South Showcase. He has an athletic build with big arm strength (97 mph raw velocity) and a pretty swing from both sides of the plate. He shows excellent plate discipline and uses his quick hands to deliver the barrel on time. He showed a bit more power from the left side over these two days, but has feel both RH and LH. Defensively he has confident actions in the OF and moves through balls well. His arm is a weapon as he throws accurately and with serious carry. Braden also hit some balls hard in the live action and continues to prove he is an advanced player with loud tools.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Braden is a hardworking and talented 2021 SS/OF prospect. At SS, Braden has an active prep step and presents a low/early glove. He funnels the ball into his body and has a clean exchange. He turns double plays well and throws from multiple arm slots. At the plate, Braden loads his hands back into the drive position and stays balanced through contact on both sides. From the right side he keeps a quiet head and attacks the ball with his lower half. On the left side he hits off a firm front side and has quick hands. Braden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Braden continues to show the makings of a special type player with improvements in his baseball abilities. He continues to show as a switch hitter and has improved his hitting / power potential from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields from both sides through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with 6 BB as he displays a solid eye and patient approach. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Braden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 5. With 4 years to further develop, Braden has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Braden is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Braden has quick feet and is very agile moving to field the ball. He gets into an athletic position to field the ball with soft hands. He has a quick, clean exchange to throw with a short arm action from over top. He has a quick release on his throws and keeps them accurate and on-line to his target. Braden can improve defensively by presenting his hands more out front to field ground balls. At the plate, Braden shows great barrel accuracy from both sides of the plate. He sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a short swing to the ball with explosive bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap power. Braden can improve as a hitter by keeping his hands close to his body in his load to prevent an arm bar. Overall, Braden is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

09/25/2016 - Interactive Video Program - New Orleans, LA Braden is an athletic SS/OF who can play the game. At SS, he displays quick footwork. He presents his glove with soft hands with a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he works behind on fly balls. He takes aggressive routes to the baseball as he makes accurate/strong throws to his target. With the bat, Braden tracks each pitch into the zone. He sprays pitches to all parts of the field as he extends through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Quicker exchange to throw
2. Backhand footwork
3. Arm strength
Outfield
1. Play through more
2. Lateral quickness

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
