Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

05/19/2019 - College PREP - Redlands, CA Braden is a 2021 RHP. On the mound Braden shows feel for his mechanics and should see his off speed develop even more with maturity practice. Braden gathers over the rubber well, separates on time, and shows a short and quick arm action. He creates good direction and rotates toward his target well. Working on a stronger glove side should help Bradens delivery and improve off speed pitches. The FB sits at 71-74 MPH with some occasional arm side run. The CB is 62-64 MPH with 10-4 gradual break and the CH is 65-68 MPH. Braden can improve his velocity and pitches with a long toss program and continuing to work on his pitches. As a 2021 grad Braden still has a few years to grow and get stronger. We look forward to seeing his progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
