11/10/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Braden is a 2025 grad out of Honolulu, HI who continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.34 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting/power potential is now outstanding through a tall setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 72-77 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Braden has a very bright future and we look forward to seeing how it plays out as he enters his sophomore year.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Braden worked out in the OF and on the mound during his time in Arizona. Defensively, Braden showed good athleticism, quick feet, and a good 1st step to the ball. He tracks it well, fields smoothly, and throws with accuracy and carry through to his cut-off man. On the mound, Braden has a simple delivery, a loose arm action, and he finishes in a complete position. He is confident on the mound, throws strikes, and aggressively attacks hitters. Offensively, Braden has good hands, a tall/open stance, and an activated load. He has fast bat speed, swings on plane, and hits well gap to gap. Mental makeup is a plus as he's coachable, works hard, is a team player, and hustles.

01/12/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Braden showed a spike in arm velocity to 63 MPH and exit velocity to 64 MPH during his last workout. In the OF, Braden has active feet, he tracks well, and gets good reads off the bat. He gets in a good ready position, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and consistency to his cut off man. Offensively, Braden has an athletic stance, he loads his hands well, and takes a square stride toward the pitcher. He has an athletic swing, a middle of the field approach, and he finds the barrel consistently.

01/13/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Honolulu, HI Braden is an athletic 2-way player who plays OF and SS. In the OF, Braden has active feet, he reads the ball well off the bat, and he plays through properly. He fields in a low/athletic position, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. In the INF, Braden has soft hands, he makes the routine plays on balls hit his way, and his exchange is clean with good direction across the diamond. Offensively, Braden has a tall set-up, a short stride, and he swings aggressively. He has good strike zone awareness, he puts the bat on the ball, and can spray to all fields. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
