02/08/2020 - Accelerated College PREP - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Braden is a LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Braden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Braden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 67-68mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 72-73mph with arm side run and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Braden shows fluid footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Braden improve defensively and as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He generates fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact to his pull side. Braden can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter swing path. Overall, Braden is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
