02/10/2019 - College PREP - Douglasville (Atlanta), GA Brady is a solid, strong catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half is explosive and he shows a feel for the barrel. Behind the dish, he utilizes his feet well in working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange and gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.18-2.23 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He is flexible and displays a solid setup and utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. With 2 years to further develop, Brady has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his baseball tools.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
