10/02/2016 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Braedyn continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. His athleticism has always stood out as he continues to be a sub 7 second runner, which is impressive given his 6'2 frame. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved, as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 81 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-81 mph. Breaking ball displaying 11/5 shape with gradual break. He shows sinking action on his changeup. Braedyn should continue to get looks from colleges given his present ability and projectability as a result of his athleticism.

06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Brewer is a very hard worker who plays the game the right way. He hustles all over the field and is a great team player. In the OF, he has active footwork, takes a quick first step and covers ground with speed. He tracks down fly-balls, working into position behind the ball. Exchange is clean with accuracy on his throws. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will aid in his development in the OF. With the bat, this RHH steps into the box looking to swing it. He tracks pitches out of the pitchers hand, into the zone and off of the barrel. He proved to be a tough out and is a threat to steal once on base. Braedyn also got on the mound and throws strikes. FB shows some run and movement. He stays directional and repeats his delivery well. He works at a quick tempo and doesn't give hitters much time to get settled. Working to maintain the same arm speed as his FB on his off-speed will help to improve effectiveness. Brewer has skills with upside on the diamond.

06/05/2016 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Braedyn is R/R OF who has speed (6.70 60 yard dash). In the OF, he has active pre-pitch footwork and hustles to track down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands and has a clean exchange to throw. As a hitter, Brewer displays a balanced approach with quiet/simple actions. He has rhythm to load, barrels the ball up consistently and drives the middle of the field. Engaging more of his lower 1/2 throughout the swing will help to tap into more power potential. A 2018 grad - Braedyn has tools with upside on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
