02/25/2018 - National Tryout Plus - West, TX Braley is a long, athletic SS prospect with strong tools in all phases of the game. He has game changing speed that he puts to use on the bases and in the field. At the dish, his bat speed is fast through the zone on a level path to make square contact. He delivers the barrel consistently to smoke the ball to all fields. At short he can pick it with great hands and quick feet. He is athletic to cover tons of ground and make all the plays. Braley has big time tools and lots of potential on the field.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Braley opened quite a few eyes at the BF UA Futures Texas event. He is an outstanding mix of athleticism, tools and energy and a true baseball player. The athletic SS ran a 6.61 in the 60 to start the day and showed 91 mph raw arm strength. That arm strength translated to the field where Braley got rid of the ball quickly and threw accurately from multiple arm slots - all with plenty on them across the diamond. He plays low in the infield with excellent glove presentation, soft hands and light/quick feet. Braley has a natural internal clock that works well and allows him to instinctually play at the right pace defensively. As a hitter, he has a simple, repeatable stroke that is built for line drives. As a quick-twitch athlete, he has the fast hands you would expect at the plate with some surprising pull-side juice. There is very little wasted movement in his swing allowing him to catch up to velocity and handle off-speed stuff. In addition, Braley showed his instincts on the bases in game play proving that his speed is usable. Overall, this is an exciting middle-of the field/top-of-the-order prospect to follow closely.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
