11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City Brandon continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-62 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/16/2019 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Brandon is a lean, athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a closed, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63 mph. Breaking ball sits from 56-59 mph with 2/8 shape with gradual break. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 3 years to further develop, Brandon has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
