Defensively, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and covers a ton of ground. He works behind and through the ball aggressively, gaining ground towards his target. Throws are accurate and on a line. As a hitter, he can swing it well from either side of the dish. Hand are quick as his swing is short/compact. He squares the ball up consistently and gets down the 1B line with speed. He is a top of the line-up guy who battles and will make an impact once on base.

11/12/2017 - College PREP - Middletown (Hartford), CT This talented switch-hitting OF prospect continues to shine. In the OF, he covers a ton of ground with lightning speed. Transfer is clean while he gains ground towards his target and fires strong throws. He has the ability to player all 3 OF spots. As a hitter, Brandon is a leadoff type as he squares the ball up consistently with pop and finishes well with extension. Swing is repeatable as he sprays hard line-drives. Chow possesses the all-around skill-set that will get him a ton of looks from coaches at the next level.

11/06/2016 - College PREP - Middletown (Hartford), CT Brandon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Defensive abilities have improved, now showing as well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet well as he covers a lot of ground, displaying range. He is aggressive and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brandon is a coachable player who worked hard on his game during his time in Pirate City. He secures the ball with soft/sure hands and gains ground in-line toward his target. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will help to improve his skills in the OF. Offensively, Brandon he steps into the box with an aggressive approach. He remains balanced throughout the swing and finishes with extension. He puts the barrel on the ball consistently and battled in every at-bat. Utilizing more of his lower 1/2 will help to increase power. Brandon has tools with still time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
