10/24/2012 - Arizona Freshman/Sophmore Fall Classic Brandon is a 2015, two-way player, that pitches and plays first base. He has a projectable body, tall with long arms. He throws and pitches from the 3/4 arm slot with good four-seam rotation. At first base, he has a tendency to drop his arm slot, causing the ball to tail at times. He has sure hands and good pre-pitch footwork. He finds himself too tall in his fielding position, needing to bend more at the knees, to allow his hands to get further out in front of his body. On the mound, he throws three pitches for strikes with his 12/6 curve-ball, at 68 MPH, being his best off-speed pitch. His fastball sat from 77-78 in his one inning outing with good/clean arm action, solid delivery and control. As Brandon continues to mature and fill out, his velocity will increase. Offensively, he has a good/clean bat path with good extension through contact. Controlling his head in his swing will help increase balance and barrel accuracy, while utilizing his lower half will increase his bat speed and ultimately, his power. All in all, the athletic/projectable frame that Brandon possesses will only continue to help him as he hones his fundamentals.
