12/17/2011 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament - Session 1 Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and showed as a two-way player for the first time as a RHP/1B. In the IF, feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. He is a quality receiver but needs to be more aggressive in playing through groundballs and improve foot speed to improve defensive grades. At the plate, Brandon shows an open setup but squares up stance through his stride. Lower half works well through the swing and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He needs to work to get stride foot down sooner to be on time and improve hitting grade. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he topped out at 78 mph. Fastball shows a range of 75-78 mph. Breaking ball is loopy but needs to develop a consistent release point while staying on top. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches.
