12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Brandon Landers is a 5'10/175 lbs left-handed hitter that will graduate in the spring. Offensively, he had a short/compact swing and kept his eyes down at contact. He did a nice job of working his body into a square hitting position and flashed good pop. He worked to implement more lower half use in the swing, and started to track the ball from the pitchers hand. In the OF, he played with a lot of consistency, working his body into position to field. He worked on continuing his momentum through the catch to help his arm play with greater life. All in all - Brandon is a very athletic/strong ball player with a coachable attitude and plus aptitude.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Brandon is a thick, athletic OF that will graduate in 2016. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.34 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting / power potential through a closed / balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He tracks balls well and utilizes 2 hands well. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind and play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Brandon has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
