08/14/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Brandon now entering his senior season continues to grow and excel on the field. At shortstop, his strong accurate arm is complimented well with good feet as he approaches ground balls. He is active pre pitch which really allows Brandon to have a quick first step and cover ground laterally. He shows good positioning on the backhand as his eyes get behind the ball allowing for his glove to work through the ball. Offensively, Brandon stays balanced and maintains good rhythm from start to finish. Brandon has good feel for the barrel as he continues to drive the ball through the middle of the field with gap power. Overall this 2017 R/R grad is a player to follow as he continues to excel on the field.

07/27/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Brandon continues to take the next step as a baseball player. At shortstop, his hands remain reliable and quick, to compliment his accurate arm and fluid feet. Working on his backhand, by staying low and giving a slight push with the glove will help on ground balls in the hole. At the plate, his center of the field approach works well for him, as his rhythm/balance and short swing help him hit the ball hard up the middle. Also a pitcher, Brandon's clean mechanics help him throw his 3 pitches (fastball, curveball, splitter) for strikes often. Driving off his lower half from the rubber and long tossing will help his velocity with the fastball. Continuing to improve, Brandon will transition well to the next level.

01/31/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Brandon continues to work hard on his game as he showed very well at his latest workout. With the bat, this athletic RHH stands in with centered balance and a strong base. Swing is quick on a short/direct path as he connects with pop and drives the ball to all parts of the field. At SS, Brandon works fluidly around the GB from right to left. He funnels smoothly and has a quick/clean transfer to throw. Backhand play is smooth as he fields the ball and gains ground toward his target. On the mound, he maintains fluid tempo and works at his pace. He gets strong glove side lead/tuck while driving downhill. FB now tops out at 82 mph as he fills out the zone with strikes. Curveball has 11/5 shape with late break, showing to be a solid 'swing and miss' pitch. Brandon possesses the tools that will translate well into the next level.

12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Brandon is a sophomore SS/3B that showed a bump of 5 MPH to his raw velocity in 4 short months. Defensively, he worked his feet with ease to get his body down to field with soft hands. He was smooth to transfer after securing the ball and threw with fluidity on double play balls. Working his feet pre-pitch and promoting his hands further in front will ensure he gets his hop and makes the play. Offensively, he was athletic in his stance and kept his hands inside at contact. He worked up the middle of the field on a consistent path and showed plate discipline - walking 3 times. More lower half drive and added bat speed as a whole will help to boost pop. Overall - Brandon was a good teammate that worked hard and has fundamental ability to add strength to over the next 2.5 years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
