06/03/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Brandon is an athletic RHP who shows as a top prospect on the diamond. On the mound, Brandon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Brandon shows an electric four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 94mph with good arm side run and sinking action. Slider sits from 79-84mph with sudden 10-4 break. Curveball sits from 74-76mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 83-84mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Brandon performed well during his outing, striking out four batters in two innings of work. Overall, Brandon is a talented prospect who will be among the top pitchers in his class.

07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Brandon is a long, lanky SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, feet are active/aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach while presenting glove well out front. Hands/feet work well together through the fielding process. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/turns of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 5 years to further develop, Brandon has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
