03/13/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Plainview (Lubbock), TX Brandon has worked very hard and molded himself into a solid OF prospect. He covers ground with a ton of speed (now running his 60 in 6.71). He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground toward his target. Offensively, this righty shows a balanced setup waiting for a pitch he likes. Hands are quick as he swings on a short/direct path - squaring the ball up with pop (exit velocity = 84 mph). Brandon has a ton of upside and will play at a high level.

08/03/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Brandon is a respectable, coachable young player with a desire to succeed on the field. Projecting in the OF and on the mound, he continues to impress coaches with his 6.85 60, lightning quick 5-10-5 and strong hands w/ pop (82 exit velo). In the OF, Brandon makes the routine plays with active feet and sure hands. As he continues to gain control of his body and head, tracking the ball will become easier. On the mound, this RHP has a competitive spirit with excellent confidence. He works downhill and gets ahead of hitters, making it difficult for them to get a pitch to hit. As he continues to develop his secondary pitches and work on consistent mechanics, he will see more command of all pitches. At the plate, Brandon is an explosive hitter with homerun power. He throws his strong hips and hands at the ball with a consistent bat path. As he develops more rhythm and eliminates head movement, he will see his abilities take the next step. Brandon is a hard working player with positive emotions and a true passion for the game.

07/22/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Brandon is an athletic 2-way player (OF/RHP) who showed well during his time at the UASW 16U Tournament. Defensively, he takes a quick first step, works lightly on the balls of his feet and tracks down fly-balls with speed to the gaps. He funnels smoothly with a clean exchange to fire accurate throws into his target. Offensively, this RHH has a balanced setup with a solid base. Quick hands whip the barrel as he jumps on pitches he likes. He barrels the ball up consistently and hustles down the 1B line - putting pressure on the defense. He battles with 2-strikes and has the ability to shorten up and put the ball in play even when behind in the count. Engaging & driving his lower 1/2 more will result in increased power at the plate. On the mound, Brandon repeats his delivery with sound mechanics. FB now ranges from 77-79 mph as he keeps it down in the zone which will result in a lot of GB outs. He throws strikes and works to get ahead in counts. Curveball is effective as it shows 10/4 shape. Brandon is a hard worker who (a 2017 grad) has a ton of upside in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
