Official Scouting Report

02/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Brandon is an OF/RHP in the 2023 class who continues to work hard on his game. In the field, he is aggressive to gain ground and displays agility. Fields in an athletic base and redirects the baseball back to the dirt with a quick over the top release. His throws are accurate and have the depth (80 velo) to carry through the base. Working to create a shorter takeaway prior to release will eliminate steps. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high 3/4 slot. Is aggressive in the strike zone with good arm extension. His FB topped at 76 with more room to grow. His CB sat 58-59 with 11/5 shape and his CH displayed movement with a 68-69 velo range. Working to stay directional to his target with his lead leg will allow him to stay downhill to the mittl. At the plate, he demonstrates quick hands and can drive the baseball to all fields. Has a centered balance and creates drive with his backside. He can generate more power by flattening out his barrel path for more extension through the baseball. Overall, Brandon has made strides since his last event and continues to trend in the right direction.

11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Brandon is an OF/RHP in the class of 2023 out of Maryland. Defensively, he displayed efficient foot work by working behind and through the baseball and made accurate throws to target/bases. At the plate, he exhibited a strong lower half with good mechanics getting on plane with the ball to drive it to all fields. On the bump, he showed he could work in and around the zone consistently with all 3 pitches. His change up seem to be his best off speed due to good spin and deception. Brandon is a promising prospect who will continue to get better with time and hard work.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frederick, MD Brandon is a class of 2023 Outfielder. In the field, he shows fluid feet and the ability to cover ground to either side of him. He does a good job of fielding from an athletic and low fielding position. His hands work out front and show softness. Does a good job working through the baseball. Has clean exchanges and creates momentum to throw. At the plate, he hits from a square stance. Shows a very quality 2 handed finish through the baseball as he gets extended. Does a good job staying balanced throughout the swing. Shows the ability to hit to all parts of the field. Brandon is a well-rounded player that we hope we can see again in the future.

11/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Sun is a skilled 2-way prospect (OF/RHP) who continues to progress on the diamond. With the bat, this righty steps into the box looking to swing it. He maintains good balance throughout his swing and works back into a strong loaded position. Hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently and hits line-drives with power to his pull-side. In the OF, he has active prep and takes good routes/angles to track down fly-balls. He works behind and through the ball gaining ground toward his target. On the bump, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a low 3/4 arm slot and deceptive delivery. He keeps his eyes on the target and repeats well. FB ranges from 66-67 mph as he works the ball in and out. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape while changeup has some tail. Continuing to work to drive off of the rubber with his lower 1/2 while finishing with extension on his follow through will help to improve effectiveness on all pitches. Only a 2023 grad - Brandon has a solid all-around skill-set with upside.

03/02/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Brandon is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Brandon sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He hits against a strong front side and drives the ball to his pull side. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Brandon improve as a hitter. With four more years to develop, Brandon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
