Official Scouting Report

  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Brandon is a hardworking, coachable player who is a competitor on the diamond. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He gets behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he displays an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows good barrel accuracy, displaying gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows in the mid 70 range. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break and maintains arm speed on his changeup up but will benefit by developing more movement. With 3 years to further develop, Brandon has abilities with a lot of room to improve and will be a player to follow.

10/04/2015 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Brandon is an athletic OF with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2018. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average, displaying smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. With 2 years to further develop, Brandon has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
