Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 [HOTEL] Brandon is a solid (6'0"/210) 2-way player who worked hard on his skills at Pirate City. With the bat, this righty maintains a balanced setup with a solid base. He has an open stance with loose/active hands to load. He jumps on pitches he likes and connects with some pop (exit velo = 82 mph). He has the ability to spray the gaps as he collected two 2B's at the event. At 1B, he hustles right and left into a square fielding position and tracks GB's into his mitt. He works well around the bag and adjusts his feet quickly to throws up and down the line. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase his lateral range in the INF. On the mound, Brandon works the zone with a fastball and breaking ball. He works quickly, stays directional and repeats well. FB sits in the mid 70's while breaking balls shows 9/3 shape. Brandon has skills that should provide success in this his senior year.

11/22/2020 - All-In Membership - Bossier City (Shreveport), LA Brandon is a tall, solid RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Slider resembles curveball. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Brandon has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
